Island performers present Country Legends ‘Men of the Century’ show
Central Queens United Church in Hunter River is set to host the Country Legends “Men of the Century” show on Thursday, Aug. 3.
This show has been touring across the Island since the fall of 2016 and has been filling churches and concert halls in the process. It is a tribute show to some of the greatest country music legends of the past 100 years.
Artisits portrayed are Johnny Cash performed by Kendall Docherty, Gene Watson performed by Larry Campbell, Ronnie Milsap performed by Peter Burke and Merle Haggard performed by Jimi Platts.
Also part of the show are back-up musicians Brian Knox on drums and Heartz Godkin on bass.
The show promises to be a night filled with some great country music and laughter as these well-known Island artists portray some of country music’s legendary performers.
The show gets underway at 7:30 p.m. with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are available at the door at a cost of $10 per person. A lunch will be served. During this show, copies of the group’s new CD will be available for sale.
This church is located on Route 2 in Hunter River. The concert will serve as a major fundraiser for the church and the community projects it serves through its ministry.
