Po­lice raid catches fourth, fi­nal sus­pect in home in­va­sion

A po­lice raid yes­ter­day has re­sulted in what the RCMP al­lege is the fourth and fi­nal sus­pect in what was re­ported as a home in­va­sion on July 29 in Bor­den-Car­leton.

In that July event, po­lice say the four peo­ple were in­volved in a break, en­ter and as­sault with a weapon.

The lat­est man to be ar­rested is now in jail, and all four made ini­tial court ap­pear­ances Wed­nes­day in Summerside.

The ar­rest was made through the co-oper­a­tion of the RCMP ma­jor crime unit and the East Prince Joint Forces Op­er­a­tions team.

The al­leged crimes in ques­tion be­gan Satur­day at 1:30 p.m., a man and woman were re­ported to have en­tered a res­i­dence in Strat­ford and robbed a man of cash. The vic­tim was hit with some sort of metal ob­ject, suf­fer­ing mi­nor in­juries.

Po­lice say the fe­male sus­pect is known to the vic­tim. The male sus­pect cov­ered his face with a hoodie or ban­dana.

Later the same day, at around 11 p.m., two men and a woman are al­leged to have en­tered a res­i­dence in Bor­den-Car­leton and as­saulted sev­eral peo­ple. At least two of the vic­tims say they were struck with a base­ball bat.

Again, po­lice say some of the vic­tims and as­sailants knew each other.

RCMP and Summerside Po­lice Ser­vices lo­cated and ar­rested three sus­pects in Summerside in re­la­tion to the Bor­den-Car­leton in­ci­dent.

The in­ves­ti­ga­tion team is ask­ing for tips from any­one that knows about th­ese in­stances.
