Reality TV – where are they now?
‘When a reality TV show is cancelled, a piece of me goes with it’
I just got back from a twoweek vacation on P.E.I., where I was visiting my friends and family.
Although I had a fantastic time and even got engaged while I was there, I couldn’t wait to get home and catch up on Big Brother and The Bachelorette because well…as much as I love my family, friends and fiancé… we all know that television is my true soulmate.
When a reality TV show is cancelled, a little piece of me goes with it.
Gone, but never forgotten, I wanted to update you on where our favourite reality stars are now.
Kristin Cavallari – “The Hills” and “Laguna Beach”
Cavallari married football star, Jay Cutler, and the couple has three children. Cavallari is also an author with a shoe and jewelry line and occasionally does some red-carpet hosting and has 2.7 million Instagram followers (including me). She’s not a regular mom, she’s a cool mom!
Evan Marriott – “Joe Millionaire”
Remember the reality show where women thought they were dating a millionaire, but in actuality, he was really a humble construction worker? Well, Marriott picked Zora in the end and they split a prize of $1 million. The two broke up shortly after and Marriott is still working in construction. I bet if “Joe Millionaire” aired 10 years later, Marriott would be shilling teeth whitening products on Instagram. #Dreams
Pauly D – “Jersey Shore”
The guy responsible for such eloquent quotes as, “gym, tan, laundry” and “cabs are here”, is still in the DJ circuit. Post “Jersey Shore”, he appeared on a few other reality shows, including Famously Single, where he met on and off again girlfriend, Aubrey O’Day. Aubrey found her fame on reality show “Making the Band”. I know two wrongs don’t make a right, but do 2 reality stars make a regular star?
Jamie Chung – “The Real World: San Diego” While most former Real World cast members continue to appear over and over again on The Challenge and work at Footlocker during the off season (I’m assuming), Chung became a successful actress. She’s married to actor, Bryan Greenberg, has starred in movies, television shows, and even has a fashion blog. Another former Real Worlder, Jacinda Barrett, has gone on to snag roles in Suits and Bloodlines. Luckily, only 2/224 reality stars make it big, so I think we’ll have more “The Challenge” seasons to look forward to.
Lorenzo Borghese – “The Bachelor”
What was once an Italian prince looking for love on reality television, is now a guy living in Manhattan, who owns a high-end skincare line for dogs. Borghese picked (but didn’t propose to) Jennifer Wilson on the finale of the ninth season of “The Bachelor”. The two broke up months later and he was seen getting cozy with the runner up. It didn’t work out for them either and now it seems he’s only getting cozy with canine skincare.
Someone get Ryan Seacrest on the phone, we need to pitch a former reality star reunion with all of the big hitters – Snooki, Spencer Pratt and Simon Cowell, we’re coming for you!
Now that’s a real world that I want to live in.
Evan Marriott is shown in his “Joe Millionaire” days. It turns out there is life after reality TV – at least for some.
