Ceilidh set for Murray Harbour

The Guardian (Charlottetown) - - ENTERTAINMENT -

Everyone is invited to the Murray Harbour Community Center for an night of entertainment marking the beginning of a new ceilidh season.

It gets underway today at 7:30 p.m. and is hosted by the Friends of the Murray Harbour Community Center. There is a $5 admission and that uncludes a light lunch.

Starting things off will be The Murray Harbour Six with Wayne MacLean, Mel Giddings, Kenny Chapman, JoAnne Ford, Michael Buell and Amy Swenson.

Harold Green is home from long-haul trucking and will be bringing his favourite music to the stage.

Ford brings a selection of musical instruments and vocals to the stage along with Buell and his trusty guitar, from old-time rock ’n’ roll to one of his original tunes.

Len Buell, Edna MacMaster and MacLean will bring great sounds and a dose of humour.

Louis MacKay will perform something from his selection of country songs and gospel hymns, and Michael O’Connor will be joining in with one of his left-handed guitars and his varied song selections.

Nicholas Matheson and Swenson will probably be playing a jig or two on their fiddles.
