The Guardian (Charlottetown) - - ENTERTAINMENT -

Belle River Artist Wendy Jones stands with the figures she was commissioned to produce for the Wood Islands Lighthouse. Neilie, Donald, Willie and Archie MacMillan were the sons of Wood Islands’ first lighthouse keeper. The pieces will stand in various rooms throughout the Lighthouse Museum. Jones explores a wide variety of subjects in her art, including portrait painting, and Eclectic, which opens today, features these diverse subject matters, techniques and mediums. The opening reception for the exhibit is today, 2-8 p.m., at WMJ Cool Cat Studio, 1828 Trans-Canada Highway. People can also drop into the studio between 10 a.m. 7 p.m. until Sept. 30. It’s a good idea to call ahead to 902-962-4131 as short, sporadic studio closures may occur.
