Credit card thief jailed

A P.E.I. man who was caught with stolen credit cards, in­clud­ing one he used, was sen­tenced re­cently to four months in jail on eight charges.

Daniel James Acorn, 32, ap­peared be­fore Judge John Dou­glas in pro­vin­cial court in Char­lot­te­town for sen­tenc­ing.

The court heard that on June 2 Acorn was caught with stolen credit cards, one of which he used to buy a pre­paid credit card. Acorn told po­lice a friend gave him the cards. In Novem­ber 2016, Acorn was also caught on video with a sec­ond per­son steal­ing $197.75 worth of items from a Buy Rite store. Then in July, Acorn stole gro­ceries from a Su­per­store.
