Credit card thief jailed
A P.E.I. man who was caught with stolen credit cards, including one he used, was sentenced recently to four months in jail on eight charges.
Daniel James Acorn, 32, appeared before Judge John Douglas in provincial court in Charlottetown for sentencing.
The court heard that on June 2 Acorn was caught with stolen credit cards, one of which he used to buy a prepaid credit card. Acorn told police a friend gave him the cards. In November 2016, Acorn was also caught on video with a second person stealing $197.75 worth of items from a Buy Rite store. Then in July, Acorn stole groceries from a Superstore.
