Adding bike racks improves safety

The Guardian (Charlottetown) - - EDITORIAL -

Amid the talk of bicycle safety on Island roads, it’s reassuring that T3 Transit has recently installed bike racks on its buses. Cyclists can now choose to load their bikes on these racks in order to bypass roads without bike lanes or paved shoulders (cyclists on Island roads without paved shoulders are basically sitting ducks), and instead access safe paths like the Confederation Trail.

Further safety measures can be realized by paving the shoulders of more roads, creating more multi-use paths like the new path from the Maypoint roundabout to the Cornwall roundabout, and extending public transit beyond the capital region.
