P.E.I. driver wins Lucas Oil 150
Proude took early lead at Oyster Bed Speedway
It was a big night for Greg Proude of Springvale Saturday night in Oyster Bed Bridge.
Proude took the lead on the opening lap of the Lucas Oil 150 for the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour at Oyster Bed Speedway, and remained there most of the night in recording his first win of the 2017 season.
Proude led 122 of the 150 laps in the race to take home the Linde most laps led award, finishing ahead of Shawn Turple of Enfield, N.S., Dylan Blenkhorn of Truro, N.S., and Cole Butcher of Porter’s Lake, N.S., in a close finish at the checkered flag.
Craig Slaunwhite of Terence Bay, N.S., edged out Kent Vincent of Crapaud for the top-five finish.
Gosbee, Proude and Blenkhorn won Atlantic Tiltload heat races to set the field for the Lucas Oil 150.
Robbie MacEwen of Sherwood was seventh in the Lucas Oil 150 to take home the Exide Batteries rookie-of-the-race and King Freight future winners awards in front of a capacity crowd.
Nick Chiasson of Milton won the Central Engine Services Street Stock 50. Shelby Baker of Fall River, N.S., was in Victory Lane in the Maritime League of Legends Tour.
The Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour returns to Halifax, N.S., for the 18th edition of the prestigious Atlantic Cat 250 on Saturday, Aug. 12, at 5 p.m.
