Man refuses to pay Confederation Bridge toll

The Guardian (Charlottetown) - - THE ISLAND -

An Ontario man did something recently that many Islanders have probably thought of doing at one time or another – he refused to pay the toll to cross the Confederation Bridge. According to East Prince RCMP, an officer was called to the bridge toll plaza on July 31 at around 4 p.m. to investigating a complaint of a man refusing to pay and holding up traffic.

What the man’s motives or concerns were are unknown. The man did eventually pay and leave the Island after having a conversation with the RCMP officer.

It costs $46.50 to cross the Confederation Bridge, plus $8 per additional axle. It is $18.50 for a motorcycle to cross.
