Au­drey Grace Sorensen passed away peace­fully, and sur­rounded by her beloved “Boys”, at K. E. Spencer Me­mo­rial Home, Monc­ton, N.B. on Tues­day, Au­gust 8, 2017. Au­drey was born on Oc­to­ber 30th, 1931 in Cor­ner Brook, NFLD, the only daugh­ter of the late Asenth (Penny) and John Gul­lage. Au­drey is sur­vived by her de­voted hus­band of 58 years, Karl, and their sons, Brian (Mary) of Na­son­worth, N.B., Gary (LoreAnn) of Grand Falls, N.B., and Kirby (Nancy) of Riverview, N.B.; grand­chil­dren, Marc (Jenna) , Karla Jayne, Tammy, Kerry (Ben), Mary (Alexan­der), Troy and Anthony and great-grand­chil­dren, Star, Dar­rell, Bella, Sally and Kabrayrah-Rose; her sis­ter-in-law, Gla­dys (Roland) Gul­lage, her brother-in-law, Jack (Ar­lene) Sorensen and sev­eral nieces and neph­ews. Au­drey is pre­de­ceased by her par­ents; broth­ers, Roland, Bill and Joseph and nieces, Shirley and Ju­dith. Au­drey worked for Thomp­son and Suther­land of North Syd­ney, NS, prior to her mar­riage on Septem­ber 2, 1958. Au­drey em­braced fam­ily life. The grow­ing fam­ily was trans­ferred reg­u­larly due to Karl’s ca­reer with the Royal Bank. Au­drey made each move an ad­ven­ture mak­ing sure her boys were well cared for while main­tain­ing their New­found­land - Prince Ed­ward Is­land roots. While liv­ing in Camp­bell­ton, N.B., Au­drey be­came an ac­tive mem­ber in The United Church Women’s group. She en­joyed knit­ting, sewing, and cook­ing; al­ways will­ing to try a new recipe or pat­tern. Af­ter re­tire­ment in Riverview, Au­drey sold crafts with her hus­band Karl. The fam­ily would like to ex­press its sin­cere thanks to the care­givers at the Spencer Nurs­ing Home. It is said that ‘’An­gels walk among us.” There is no other way to de­scribe th­ese spe­cial in­di­vid­u­als who made Au­drey/Nan­nie’s fi­nal days so com­fort­able for her and worry free for her fam­ily. Vis­i­ta­tion will take place at St Paul’s United Church, 404 Cleve­land Ave, Riverview, N.B., on Sun­day, Au­gust 13, 2017 from 1 to 2 p.m., fol­lowed im­me­di­ately by a Ser­vice to cel­e­brate and hon­our Au­drey’s life at 2 p.m. with Rev. Dr. An­drew O’Neill of­fi­ci­at­ing. A light re­cep­tion will fol­low the ser­vice. In­ter­ment will take place in the Tryon Peo­ple’s Ceme­tery, Tryon, P.E.I. at a later date. For those who wish to make a do­na­tion in Au­drey’s mem­ory the fam­ily sug­gests the St Paul’s United Church Build­ing Fund, The Friends of The Monc­ton Hos­pi­tal Foun­da­tion or a char­ity of the donor’s choice.
