P.E.I. ath­letes shine

At Nova Sco­tia Pro­vin­cial Games in Antigonish

A to­tal of nine ath­letes rep­re­sented Special Olympics P.E.I. in Nova Sco­tia re­cently.

The Team P.E.I. mem­bers com­peted in two sports – golf and rhyth­mic gym­nas­tics – at the Nova Sco­tia Pro­vin­cial Special Olympics Games.

Golfers com­peted stroke play and skills.

The rhyth­mic gym­nas­tics ath­letes com­peted in hoop, rib­bon, ball and rope events.

P.E.I. Special Olympics also had a strong show­ing at the re­cent New Brunswick Pro­vin­cial Special Olympics Games. A story on those ath­letes was pub­lished in Thurs­day’s Jour­nal Pi­o­neer.

Rhyth­mic Gym­nas­tics Rachel Log­gie (Char­lot­te­town)

Sec­ond in Di­vi­sion 1 hoops. Sec­ond in Di­vi­sion 1 rib­bon. Sec­ond in Di­vi­sion 2 ball. Sec­ond in Di­vi­sion 1 rope.
