Chevies overun Expos in KCBL contest
Morell scores eight runs in the fourth inning
The Morell Chevies erupted for eight runs in the fourth inning and cruised to an 18-8 win over the Charlottetown Action Aero Expos in Kings County Baseball League action Wednesday in Morell.
Brett Hicken picked up the win in relief for the Chevies, with Taylor Larkin pitching the final two innings.
Mike MacMillan was tagged with the loss, with relief from Tyler Johnston and Kris McGuirk.
Top batters for the Chevies were Desi Doyle (4-for-5), Scott Ellsworth and Darcy Affleck each 3-for-4), Scott Harper, Cole McLaren and Troy Coffin, each 2-for-3).
Larkin added a bases loaded triple in the fourth.
For the Expos, Peter Macaulay and Jeremy Koughan each collected a pair of hits.
The Chevies host the Cardigan Clippers Friday in Morell to complete a tie game called earlier in the season before playing a second game.
