Emerald hosting Treble with Girls

Ceilidh in the Boxcar Pub and Grill

-

P.E.I. fiddler Courtney Hogan will be hosting her weekly ceilidh tonight at the Emerald Boxcar Pub and Grill.

Hogan’s also bringing along some old friends, but new faces to Emerald — the Celtic group Treble with Girls.

Over her career, Hogan has launched four albums and has shared the stage with some of Canada’s best performers. This week will be no exception as she’ll be joined by Maxine MacLellan, Jolee Patkai and Norman Stewart, who make up Treble with Girls, along with Sheila MacKenzie.

With a repertoire full of Maritime, Celtic, country and folk music along with original songs and outstanding harmony vocals, Treble with Girls is sure to become an Emerald Ceilidh favourite. Combined, the band has received several P.E.I. Music Award nominations over the years in the roots traditional, female vocalist and country recording categories.

A kitchen party wouldn’t be the same without a step dancer, and Hogan will welcome her good friend, Madison Coles, who has won several P.E.I. dancing awards.

The music, fiddle tunes, dancing, stories and laughs will start at 7:30 p.m. with a $10 admission at the door. The pub will open at 5:30 p.m. for food and drinks, and the cozy rural venue is licensed and air-conditioned. A 50/50 draw, CDs, P.E.I. postcards and ceilidh souvenir T-shirts will also be for sale.
