The fu­neral for Fred­er­ick “Fred” Mac­Don­ald, hus­band of the late Bertha (Cameron) Mac­Don­ald, formerly of Sher­brooke, was held on Wed­nes­day, July 19, 2017, from the Moase Fu­neral Home, Sum­mer­side, to St. Paul’s Church, Sum­mer­side, where fu­neral mass was cel­e­brated at 1:30 p.m. by Rev Ashok Veere­bathina, who pro­claimed the Gospel and de­liv­ered the homily. The first read­ing was given by MacKen­zie Deighan and the sec­ond by Cheri Mac­Don­ald. Janet Deighan led in the Prayers of the Faith­ful. Cross bearer was Irv­ing Arse­nault. Can­dle bear­ers were Rene Richard and Wind­sor Arse­nault. In­cense bearer was Harold Mur­phy. The Pall was placed by Janet Deighan and Mer­i­lyn Gagnon. Pro­ces­sional hymn was “Here I Am Lord.” Hymns were “Holy God, We Praise Your Name” and “Come to the Wa­ters.” Gui­tarist, Claire Muir ren­dered “Danny Boy.” Re­ces­sional was “Amaz­ing Grace.” Pi­anist was Bethany Daw­son. At­tend­ing the fu­neral were man­age­ment and staff of MacLeod Care Clin­ton View Lodge. Pall­bear­ers were Paul Deighan, Brian Gagnon, Tim Day, Steve Gagnon, Howard Fo­ley and Colin Mac­Don­ald. In­ter­ment was in St. Paul’s Ceme­tery, Sum­mer­side, with Fr. Ashok Veer­abathina of­fi­ci­at­ing.
