Susan Rodgers fans won’t have to look far when searching for the perfect beach read this summer.

Author of the popular “Drifters” series, Rodgers’ newest book “Castles in the Sand”, features a Twin Shores-inspired campground, Castle Beach.

Rodgers, who spends her summers at the busy P.E.I. campground, recently finished a volunteer stint at the Cavendish Beach Music Festival leading her to wonder, “Wouldn’t it be fun if a famous county singer hid out at Twin Shores for the summer?”

Enter Dallas White, a famous singer staying at a site overlooking the beach, while his love interest, single mom Cassie Keough, is living on the bay side in a fifth wheel.

“Our fifth wheel is the oldest and smallest of the seasonals (at Twin Shores), so I decided to live vicariously through Cassie. She’s got the luxury trailer I’d like to have. Dallas on the other hand is living in a tent so ‘it’s all good,’ as they say. It balances out,” said Rodgers with a laugh.

Those still craving the Drifters series need not fret. Rodgers released three new books in the series in time for summer reading, “The Light in Me”, “When the Wind Moves” and “Listen to the River.”

All of the books are available as eBooks and some are also available in print in Island bookstores.

Newest releases are also available in print via Rodgers by contacting her at fatcat@pei. sympa or through text at 902-439-8362.
