Lady Singers return

After a sold-out show July 31, two more concerts planned in August

Fans of the Tribute to Lady Singers of our Century concert, featuring songs by Anne Murray, Tanya Tucker, Rita MacNeil, Loretta Lynn, Emmylou Harris, Patsy Cline and Linda Rondstad,will have two more chances to see the popular show this month.

After in Winsloe Church.

It’s a fundraiser for the church, which is wheelchair accessible and located at 121 Winsloe Rd. Tickets are $12 at the door.

The third performanc­e is Monday, Aug. 21, at St. Joachim, Hall, starting at 7:30 p.m.

This is a fundraisin­g concert United for the hall located in Vernon River off the main road. It is wheelchair accessible with plenty of parking.

There will be canteen service as well as a 50/50 draw. Tickets are $12 at the door as well as an advanced sale by calling 902-626-9758. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.

Hosts for all concerts are Judy McGregor and Joan Reeves, also known as Ding and Dong. Joining them will be Jolee Patkai, Keila Glydon and Colleen MacPhee.

Patkai, a talented singer, songwriter has released two CD’s “Going Home” in 2012 and “Shore Rhapsody” in 2006. She also performs with Treble with Girls and appears at many fundraisin­g benefits and concerts.

Glydon has performed with many different groups either singing lead or harmony. She also performs with Dino and the Harmonies and Phase 11 and has written many songs that can be found on her gospel CD, “Here I Am Lord”.

MacPhee, originally from Georgetown, has entered and won numerous singing contests and has two CD’s to her credit.

McGregor and Reeves have been singing together for many years, producing harmonies and adding humour.
