Lady Singers re­turn

Af­ter a sold-out show July 31, two more con­certs planned in Au­gust

Fans of the Trib­ute to Lady Singers of our Cen­tury con­cert, fea­tur­ing songs by Anne Mur­ray, Tanya Tucker, Rita MacNeil, Loretta Lynn, Em­mylou Har­ris, Patsy Cline and Linda Rond­stad,will have two more chances to see the pop­u­lar show this month.

It’s a fundraiser for the church, which is wheel­chair ac­ces­si­ble and lo­cated at 121 Winsloe Rd. Tick­ets are $12 at the door.

The third per­for­mance is Mon­day, Aug. 21, at St. Joachim, Hall, start­ing at 7:30 p.m.

This is a fundrais­ing con­cert United for the hall lo­cated in Ver­non River off the main road. It is wheel­chair ac­ces­si­ble with plenty of park­ing.

There will be can­teen ser­vice as well as a 50/50 draw. Tick­ets are $12 at the door as well as an ad­vanced sale by call­ing 902-626-9758. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.

Hosts for all con­certs are Judy McGre­gor and Joan Reeves, also known as Ding and Dong. Join­ing them will be Jolee Patkai, Keila Gly­don and Colleen MacPhee.

Patkai, a tal­ented singer, song­writer has re­leased two CD’s “Go­ing Home” in 2012 and “Shore Rhap­sody” in 2006. She also per­forms with Tre­ble with Girls and ap­pears at many fundrais­ing ben­e­fits and con­certs.

Gly­don has per­formed with many dif­fer­ent groups ei­ther singing lead or har­mony. She also per­forms with Dino and the Har­monies and Phase 11 and has writ­ten many songs that can be found on her gospel CD, “Here I Am Lord”.

MacPhee, orig­i­nally from Ge­orge­town, has en­tered and won nu­mer­ous singing con­tests and has two CD’s to her credit.

McGre­gor and Reeves have been singing to­gether for many years, pro­duc­ing har­monies and adding hu­mour.
