-

Harbourfront Theatre presents Classic Albums Live: ‘Rush 2112’ today at 7:30 p.m. in Summerside.

Classic Albums Live presents skilled musicians who recreate the greatest albums of the ’60s and ’70s live on stage – note for note, cut for cut.

Don’t look for costumes and look-alike theatrics at these rock recitals, just pure musicianship and songs that shaped a generation.

Released in 1976, “2112” is the fourth studio album by Canadian rock band Rush. It features a seven-part suite that constitutes a full side of the record, telling a dystopian story set in the year 2112. This album marked Rush’s first real commercial success, eventually reaching platinum status. Today, “2112” is widely considered to be one of the greatest progressive rock albums of all time.

“The sheer talent and passion the performers in Classic Albums Live bring to their concerts is just incredible. We’ve had this group in before, and they are wildly popular with our audience and deservingly so,” said Harbourfront’s executive director Kieran Keller.

The Classic Albums Live band has performed at the Harbourfront Theatre many times over the years.

The last time being this past spring when they performed the Eagles’ iconic Hotel California. The band is an audience favourite, and fans of Rush are sure to love the Classic Albums Live tribute to one of Canada’s iconic progressive rock bands.
