Crews search for 81-year-old woman missing after having car trouble
HALIFAX — An aircraft and ground crews have scoured an area outside Halifax for an 81-year-old woman who was last seen at her car on Tuesday after it ran into trouble. Police say Myrna Burgess and an 83-year-old male family member were visiting Porters Lake Provincial Park when they had car trouble and slept in the car overnight. They say the man left on foot at noon on Tuesday to get help, walking for several hours before meeting some people who tried to help him find his way back to the vehicle.
They were not able to find it and called RCMP the following day, prompting ground search and rescue crews to begin a search. Burgess is described as white, with short white hair and RCMP say she has mobility issues. Police are interested in speaking to two men on bicycles the man saw on his walk Tuesday.
