She was born 1957 at Joe Batt’s Arm and came to Burgeo, where she would serve for 33 years as a nurse, in 1977.

On March 21, a picture of a very sweet lady, registered nurse Diane ‘Decker’ Cossar, was placed in the Calder Health Care Centre in her memory.

She was always referred to by family, friends and co-workers as Decker.

She also worked as a nurse for a year in Alberta and another year in Halifax.

Decker loved Burgeo and was for years the emergency nurse of the hospital. She loved to care for the sick and her patients loved the friendly nurse that was happy to give them all the help they needed.

She was loved by her patients and co–workers as well.

Decker’s life ended just a short time ago after a battle with cancer. She was a big loss to the people of Burgeo, who had a great love and respect for her.
