Newspaperman glimpses The ‘Twin Towns’ — Part 7

The Gulf News (Port aux Basques) - - EDITORIAL -

The store now occupied by this firm was built in 1938. Today the store has a staff of twenty-five people, and the filleting plant gives employment to a number that ranges from twenty-five to sixty in accordance to the needs of the firm’s fishery operations. Two motor trucks, a horse, and a fleet of motorboats of various sizes are in constant operation. In addition to these about twenty privately owned motorboats are engaged in fishing for the Battiste plant and buy their supplies from the firm’s store.

Now I have come to the end of my story about the business places visited during my stay at Twin Towns. I had planned to visit other places of like interest but the uncertainties of travel prevented my doing so.
