Halloween treats

Whether it’s cake pops, caramel apples, candy apples or shortbread decorated with ghost faces, it’s all so much fun at Halloween.

Happy Halloween! Halloween is just as much fun for the adults as it is for the children these days.

My family and myself enjoy dressing up for the occasion. I also enjoy making treats for the children.

Whether it’s cake pops, caramel apples, candy apples or shortbread decorated with ghost faces its all so much fun.

This year I am once again making Halloween treats with Rice Krispies.

You can decorate with so many options and have so much fun doing so.

Monster Treats

3 tbsp butter 1 package regular marshmallows or 4 cups of marshmallows 6 cups Rice Krispies 1 cup chocolate chips Mini M&M’s, sprinkles, Oreo crumbs

Method

In a large saucepan melt butter over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat. Add Rice Krispies. Stir until well coated. While the cereal is still warm use a 1/2 cup measuring cup coated with cooking spray to divide into portions. Using clean hands coated with butter, shape into balls. Push half of a pretzel rod or popsicle stick into each ball. Cool. In a small saucepan, over low heat, melt 1 cup of chocolate chips stirring constantly. Hold each ball by the stick and dip in chocolate. Decorate with sprinkles, M&M’s, crushed Oreo cookies, crushed chocolate bars. You can try colored chocolate, butterscotch chips… Anything that’s yummy.
