Two ma­jor projects fin­ish up on Route 480

Two ma­jor con­struc­tion projects are fin­ish­ing up on Route 480.

The bridge at Top Pond Brook opened both lanes to traf­fic the week be­fore last while the new cul­vert at Wooden Tilt Brook opened to traf­fic late dur­ing the evening of Oct. 23.

Work­ers and ma­chin­ery be­gan re­mov­ing the Bai­ley bridge on Oct. 24. The Bai­ley bridge has been in place at Wooden Tilt Brook since De­cem­ber 2014 when the cul­vert col­lapsed.

Emera’s Mar­itime Link Project is com­ing to­gether vis­ually for res­i­dents on the south­west coast. Con­struc­tion zones have been set up on the Trans-Canada High­way and crews have been busy clear­ing land and now in­stalling trans­mis­sion tow­ers.
