A new club for boys and girls aged 12-18 has formed in Port-aux-Basques.

The Leo Club — part of the Lions International organization — is designed to teach children life lessons like: leadership, teambuilding and communication.

The Leo club will also offer local youth opportunities to attend conventions all over the province.

Although it’s sponsored by the Lions Club, first vice-president Valerie Clarke is quick to point out that there’s no fundraising involved.

The Leo club is designed to help kids express themselves creatively while they learn skills that would be useful in post-secondary school and the workplace.

Student members will also be able to count their participation towards the 30 hours of community involvement mandated by the school curriculum.

It’s also free. There is no cost to join the club. To find out more about the Leo Club of Port aux Basques, visit the Club’s official facebook page: https:// www. facebook. com/ Leos- ofPab-1811645605753207/
