It’s beginning to look a lot like summer
PORT AUX BASQUES, NL – After a long stretch of fog, rain, wind and cold, residents of Port aux Basques were treated to warmer temperatures on June 21.
Some took to the community garden, while others went for strolls along the boardwalk with their dogs.
As reported on May 29, the downtown beautification project was provided funding to improve the downtown core and make it more appealing.
The amphitheater has a new blue sail and rainbow coloured flags now line the boardwalk from Scott’s Cove Park to the new Marine Atlantic access gate. Along Main Street and other high traffic roads new metal benches and multi- colour square garbage boxes offer a brief respite along with some pleasant views.
Construction crews were spotted patching roads in several areas throughout town. Meanwhile contractors have also broken ground for the new multipurpose building across from St. James Elementary in Grand Bay.
Colourful flags line the boardwalk near Scott’s Cove Park and a deep blue sail now tops the amphitheater.
Construction has been on the new daycare in Grand Bay.
New metal benches and sturdy garbage boxes have been placed around town.
