St. James Army Cadets
Cadets are about to start up again. St. James Army Cadets is open to any young adult from age 12 up to and and including under 19. We’re excited to welcome new cadets on Wednesday Sept. 6 at St. James High School at 6:30 p.m.
Did you know that the Army Cadets is a free activity for your child to be involved with? Costs are covered for cadets, their uniform is free, activities are free, adventures are free and all travel is free with the cadets.

Volunteer Peer Group Facilitation training

The Rec House Youth Centre
As a drop in centre, youth from 12-18 can come by Monday to Thursday till 9 p.m., Friday till 10 p.m., and Saturday 3-10 p.m. There are darts, ping pong, air hockey, Wii games, X box games, Netflix, board games and arts and crafts available. We do have special events on our schedule and do plan specific activities for staff to involve the youth in. For more information, call 695-6901.

Alzheimer Society Information
An information session is available to Newfoundland and Labrador residents. Anyone interested in registering for the sessions should call 709-576-0608 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. The series is for individuals and their families diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia. Includes sessions on an overview of dementia, coping strategies, community resources and supports.
Are you interested in volunteering? Western Health is looking for volunteers to assist as greeters at Western Memorial Regional Hospital and Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre. Greeters help welcome visitors and clients and assist them in finding locations throughout the building.
