Port aux Basques’ CNA student wins silver at Skills Canada nationals
Melissa Battiste’s cabinetmaking artistry was recognized with a silver medal during the 24th annual Skills Canada National Competition this month.
Battiste is a student at College of the North Atlantic’s (CNA) Port aux Basques campus.
The competition, held in Edmonton, Alta. from June 3-6, saw over 550 competitors from across the country compete in the more than 40 competition areas.
Twenty of the 46 Team Newfoundland and Labrador competitors were from CNA.

Anthony Leonard - Gold Medal and Best in Region Award - IT Networking (PostSecondary - College of the North Atlantic Prince Philip Drive Campus)
Chelsie Cake and Breanna Tilley – Gold Medal – 2D Computer Animation (Secondary - Queen Elizabeth Regional High School)
Keagan Dalley and Hayley Martin – Gold Medal – 3D Computer Animation (Secondary - Holy Spirit High School and Carbonear Collegiate)
