New Marine Atlantic building to be located on Hardy’s Arterial Road.
PORT AUX BASQUES, N.L. – A sod turning event will be held at the site of Marine Atlantic’s new administration building next week.
The Crown corporation announced the acquisition of land at 175 Hardy’s Arterial Rd. today, June 28, for the building.
“This will be a multi-million-dollar facility that will consolidate administrative functions in Port aux Basques, similar to what has been done in other areas of our organization,” Kristopher Parsons, chair of Marine Atlantic’s board of directors, said in a release.
“We are very excited about the construction of our new facility and the benefits it will bring for our operations, as well as our overall presence and investment in the local community. We will also investigate partnership opportunities that could result in mutual benefits for our operations, employees and local residents.”
The sod turning will take place at the site on Monday, July 2.
The release indicated the new building will mean improved space and amenities for employees and operations.
