Tenants flee Concession Street fire
An overnight fire caused an estimated $100,000 damage to a Concession Street apartment.
Hamilton firefighters arrived at 618 Concession St. about 1:45 a.m. Wednesday to find heavy smoke billowing out of the back of the twostorey building.
The occupants of the building got out safely, with one tenant suffering minor smoke inhalation.
The Red Cross was called in to help the tenant in the unit where the fire started find another place to stay.
Firefighters stopped the blaze from spreading into several adjacent businesses and apartments on the block.
The fire’s cause is not yet known.
