Sho­plifter comes back with re­sume

An al­leged sho­plifter pushed his luck Tues­day when he ap­plied for a job at a Col­borne Street busi­ness.

A man was seen in video tak­ing a cord­less drill from the store but did not try to pay for it be­fore leav­ing. Later that day, the man re­turned to the store with a re­sume to ap­ply for a job.

An em­ployee rec­og­nized the man and con­tacted the Brant­ford Po­lice Ser­vice. Of­fi­cers tracked him down us­ing in­for­ma­tion found on the re­sume.

A 28-year-old Brant­ford man was is­sued a tres­pass or­der from the store and is not to re­turn there again. He also has to at­tend a precharge di­ver­sion pro­gram at St. Leonard’s Com­mu­nity Ser­vices for theft.
