Colts com­mis­sion artist to cre­ate statue of Man­ning

IN­DI­ANAPO­LIS — The In­di­anapo­lis Colts have com­mis­sioned city fire­fighter and artist Ryan Feeney to cre­ate a statue of for­mer In­di­anapo­lis Colts quar­ter­back Pey­ton Man­ning.

The Colts say the statue will be placed out­side Lu­cas Oil Sta­dium next year. Man­ning was quar­ter­back of the Colts for 14 Na­tional Foot­ball League sea­sons, lead­ing them to a Su­per Bowl ti­tle, and re­tired af­ter play­ing four sea­sons with the Den­ver Bron­cos, lead­ing them to a Su­per Bowl win last sea­son.

Feeney is founder of Indy Art Forge and has cre­ated nu­mer­ous works around In­di­anapo­lis, in­clud­ing the Peace Dove sculp­ture for the In­di­anapo­lis li­brary, the Fallen Deputy Memo­rial in front of the Mar­ion County Jail, and the bronze ea­gle at the In­di­anapo­lis 9/11 Memo­rial.
