TORONTO — The Toronto Raptors have finalized the signing of guard DeMar DeRozan, bringing the all-star back to the only NBA team he has ever played for. The deal is reportedly for five years at $139 million US. The six-foot-seven, 220-pound native of Compton, Calif., averaged a career and team-best 23.5 points (tied for eighth in the NBA) with 4.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists in 35.9 minutes over 78 games in 2015-16.
He averaged 20.9 points, 4.2 rebounds and 37.3 minutes in 20 games in the post-season as Toronto advanced to the Eastern Conference final for the first time.
The Raptors also confirmed the signing of free-agent forward Jared Sullinger, who averaged 10.3 points and 8.3 rebounds in 81 games with Boston last season.
