Man wield­ing golf club at Brant­ford hos­pi­tal ar­rested

A 37-year-old Brant­ford man faces nu­mer­ous charges af­ter los­ing his cool at the Brant­ford Gen­eral Hos­pi­tal on Tues­day.

Af­ter be­com­ing “dis­grun­tled,” Brant­ford po­lice said the man smashed a win­dow with a steel chair. He picked up pieces of glass and threat­ened to harm staff mem­bers be­fore flee­ing the hos­pi­tal.

Out­side he got his hands on a golf club, threat­ened a cou­ple and de­manded they give him a ride, but they ig­nored him and drove away, ac­cord­ing to po­lice.

Of­fi­cers dis­cov­ered the sus­pect nearby and charged him with as­sault with a weapon, ut­ter­ing threats, and mis­chief over $5,000. He was held for a bail hear­ing.
