Halton paramedic facing more charges
A Halton paramedic from Dundas has been charged with sexual assault and voyeurism.
Halton police say they arrested 57-year-old Tad Nelson in connection with an alleged incident that happened inside an ambulance in October 2015.
He was expected to appear in Milton bail court Friday.
In April, Nelson was also charged with two counts of possession of child pornography in a massive Internet child exploitation bust in which police said more than 20 victims were rescued, including young children.
At the time, he was placed on leave as the region conducted an internal investigation.
“The individual was immediately placed on an unpaid leave of absence pending the completion of a thorough internal investigation,” Halton Region spokesperson John Winkels said in an email Friday when asked if Nelson was still on leave.
Nelson was listed as an advanced care paramedic on Ontario’s Sunshine list in 2015 and 2014.
Anyone with information about the allegations is asked to contact Det. Const. Matt Cunnington at 905-465-8978 or Det. Const. Alanda Prescod at 905-465-8977.
