Burlington murder report was false alarm

The Hamilton Spectator - - LOCAL - THE HAMILTON SPECTATOR

Halton police say a reported murder in Burlington called in Friday morning was false.

The 911 call announcing someone had been killed Friday morning sparked a large police response, with emergency services vehicles briefly blocking downtown-bound traffic on Brant Street near Leighland Road around 10:30 a.m.

But Sgt. Barry Malciw said a search of an address on that stretch of Brant concluded the report was false. Malciw said the incident is still under investigation, but no other details would immediately be released.

All police vehicles had left the scene by 11 a.m.
