New report says sellers rule in local real estate
Home sales and listings were down in Hamilton in June, but it’s still a seller’s market.
New figures from the Conference Board of Canada show 16,106 sales of homes in the Hamilton-Burlington by region. That’s down 9.8 percent from June 2015, but up 2.5 per cent compared to May of this year. A total of 18,636 homes were offered for sale, down 13.1 per cent from June of last year.
The Conference Board reports an average price in the region of $495,105 in June, up 12.7 per cent from the same month last year and 2.7 per cent from May.
