New re­port says sell­ers rule in lo­cal real es­tate

Home sales and list­ings were down in Hamil­ton in June, but it’s still a seller’s mar­ket.

New fig­ures from the Con­fer­ence Board of Canada show 16,106 sales of homes in the Hamil­ton-Burling­ton by re­gion. That’s down 9.8 per­cent from June 2015, but up 2.5 per cent com­pared to May of this year. A to­tal of 18,636 homes were of­fered for sale, down 13.1 per cent from June of last year.

The Con­fer­ence Board re­ports an av­er­age price in the re­gion of $495,105 in June, up 12.7 per cent from the same month last year and 2.7 per cent from May.
