Arkells hometown show sold out

-

Hamilton rock band Arkells have sold out their Feb. 10 “homecoming” show at the FirstOntario Centre.

“We’ve always felt a ton of support from our hometown,” Arkells lead singer Max Kerman said Tuesday in a statement announcing the sell-out.

“Our neighbours are always rooting for us when we head out on tour, and to come home and sell out the arena is something we could never have dreamed of. We can’t wait to show folks what we’ve been working on while we’ve been on the road.”

The capacity for the Arkells’ show at FirstOntario Centre is about 10,000.

The multiple-Juno winning band, which started up on the campus of McMaster University, is currently touring the United States to support its fourth album “Morning Report” with English folk-punk artist Frank Turner and The Sleeping Souls.

Turner is also opening for the Arkells’ Canadian tour, which starts in Vancouver today.

The Arkells’ current single “My Heart’s Always Yours” has earned more than 1.5 million streams on Spotify.
