Braley doesn’t deserve criticism

The Hamilton Spectator - - OPINION -

RE: Time count violation, Toronto (Jan. 25)

I fail to see the rationale for Drew Edwards’ gratuitous criticism of David Braley for his ownership period of the Toronto Argonauts. Mr. Edwards himself articulates the reasons why the league needs a successful franchise in Toronto (“it’s the media, business and advertising capital of this country ...”) yet had Mr. Braley not stepped up and bought the team when all of the millionaires in Toronto closed their chequebooks, there likely would not even be a team in that city now for Mr. Edwards and others to write about. The same goes not only for the BC Lions but for our own Ticats as well some years previous, two other franchises he rescued from oblivion. Brian Kelly, Hamilton
