Alzheimer Society pushes dementia strategy

The local Alzheimer Society is meeting with area MPPs to discuss the need for a fullyfunded Ontario Dementia Strategy.

The meetings, which started on Wednesday with Brant MPP Dave Levac, will feature local constituents living with dementia telling their stories about why funding for this strategy is so important.

The Alzheimer Society of Brant, Haldimand Norfolk, Hamilton and Halton is meeting with Hamilton MPPs on Friday and with Halton MPPs next week.

The society says there are more than 28,000 residents living with dementia in the area. More than half of them live in the community.
