The Queen came to the throne on Feb. 6, 1952, with the death of her fa­ther Ge­orge VI. The Cen­tral library marked the Sap­phire Ju­bilee Sun­day and Mon­day with a spe­cial royal ex­hibit fea­tur­ing Royal Fam­ily por­traits, pho­to­graphs, a 1938 Christ­mas card and a Royal Stan­dard that flew over Buck­ing­ham Palace.
