Serious crash on Hwy. 403 off-ramp

The Hamilton Spectator - - LOCAL -

Emergency crews were called in to rescue trapped patients following a T-bone crash in icy conditions near the westbound Highway 403 off-ramp to Highway 52.

Hamilton police Staff Sgt. Chris Hastings said a car and a pickup truck were involved in the collision around 7 p.m. and that “icy conditions were probably a factor.”

Hastings didn’t immediately have details about injuries to the vehicle drivers or passengers, but said two trapped occupants required help from emergency workers.

Hasting said the collision required temporary closure of the off-ramp to Highway 52 and likely some Highway 403 lane closures for emergency vehicles. The fire department at one point reported seven responding emergency vehicles at the scene.

Hamilton was under an ice and rain warning for most of the day.
