Trump’s war on NAFTA

The Hamilton Spectator - - OPINION - RE: Renegotiating NAFTA

I understand companies create many different jobs, not just research and development and production of the final product but outsourcing of components as well. This may in fact create 250 new U.S. jobs for every 100 moved to Mexico.

But what is the quality of these 250 new jobs? Some, like R and D, are very good jobs indeed. But with automation many outsourced jobs may pay a lot less, with fewer benefits and less security. Is NAFTA as it is currently set up a benefit, or a race to the bottom?
