Stewart on how the U.S. may survive Trump

RE: Jon Stewart slams Trump’s first 11 days (Feb. 2)

Jon Stewart is a comedian, but he is far more than that. His routine regarding the Trump presidency was meant to entertain, but also to inform. However, either by intention or space limitation, the most important part of the routine was left out of Emily Yahr’s article, the finishing statement (also looking directly into the camera):

“We have never faced this before. Purposeful, vindictive chaos. But perhaps therein lies the saving grace of I, Donald J. Trump’s presidency — no action will be adequate. All action will be necessary. And if we do not allow Donald J. Trump to exhaust our fight, and somehow come through this presidency calamity-less and constitutionally intact, then I, Donald J. Trump, will have demonstrated the greatness of America — just not how I thought I was gonna.” Sandra Harper, Hamilton
