Two more vic­to­ries for Lau­ren

Reign­ing Un­der-15 na­tional grand slalom cham­pion Lau­ren McKay is the midst of another out­stand­ing snow­board­ing sea­son.

The 14-year-old from Stoney Creek won two USASA (United States Snow­board and Freeski As­so­ci­a­tion) West­ern New York races in El­li­cotville on Satur­day.

Two more races, planned for Sun­day, were rained out and will be shifted to Mans­field Ski Club this week­end as part of a Snow­board On­tario ros­ter of races.

McKay, also trained in­for­mally with the Cana­dian ju­nior na­tional snow­board rac­ing team in Colling­wood two week­ends ago.

The Amer­i­can and Cana­dian Na­tion­als are be­ing held dur­ing the same week in early April, hun­dreds of kilo­me­tres apart. McKay wants to de­fend her na­tional ti­tle in Que­bec and if she con­tin­ues to place well in USASA events, will be in­vited to the U.S. cham­pi­onships in Colorado, as well.
