New Credit man beaten in violent home invasion
NEW CREDIT FIRST NATION — Haldimand County OPP are investigating a violent robbery that left a New Credit man beaten on the floor of his home.
Six Nations Police and Haldimand paramedics responded to the home on Second Line in Mississauga of the New Credit First Nation (close to the border with Six Nations) Wednesday afternoon after a friend discovered the victim.
OPP believe a man — with his face covered — entered the home around 12:15 p.m. and confronted the victim.
The victim was hit several times with a weapon, before the suspect stole cash, a wallet and prescription medication, OPP said.
The attacker was last seen running down the driveway and getting into the passenger side of a newer model silver Dodge Durango.
The vehicle fled east on Second Line.
He was described as a “light-coloured skin” male, approximately six foot tall, with a thin build and wearing camouflage clothing.
The victim was transported to hospital and treated for non-lifethreatening injuries.
