Donald Trump’s the man for me
RE: Ontario energy policy
I just received my Union Gas bill for January. It reflects the full effect of the new cap and trade tax as well as a price increase by the gas company. I used the rates that were in effect last spring to calculate what my bill would have been. To my amazement, I will be paying 46.3 per cent more! In my case, that is almost $200 more this month.
The Union Gas website tells me the cap and trade tax is 3.3 cents per cubic meter. For me that is $75 of the increase. Seventy five dollars and I get nothing for it! I’m an old retired guy on a very fixed income.
Couple this with what Ms. Wynne has done to my hydro bill and gasoline for my car, I guess all I can do is turn off all my lights, turn down the thermostat and leave my car parked in the driveway.
Maybe Donald Trump isn’t so bad after all. He wants to eliminate the cap and trade tax. Bob Miller, Hamilton
