Hamilton man expected to survive stabbing

A 33-year-old Hamilton man is expected to survive a stabbing that was initially deemed to be life-threatening. Police were called to the area of Ivon and Roxborough avenues around 10:30 a.m. Saturday. When they arrived, a 33-year-old man was found with injuries stemming from a stab wound to the abdomen. He was taken to hospital. Police say the stabbing occurred during an altercation with a man known to the victim. That man fled the scene before officers arrived. Staff Sgt. Treena Ley says they are still looking for him. Charges are pending.
