Pair sought in at­tempted armed rob­bery

Hamil­ton po­lice are search­ing for two sus­pects af­ter an armed rob­bery at a King Street West gas sta­tion last week.

Po­lice were called at 4:25 a.m. on Feb. 5 af­ter two men at­tempted to rob the Esso at 648 King St. W.

One of the men “bran­dished a weapon” and de­manded money from the reg­is­ter. The sec­ond sus­pect also de­manded cash, but they fled empty-handed.

Po­lice re­fused to dis­close the type of weapon “to pre­serve the in­tegrity of the in­ves­ti­ga­tion.” No one was in­jured. The first sus­pect is de­scribed as a black man, with a lighter skin tone, thin build, in his late teens to early 20s. He was dressed all in black, in­clud­ing a mask and jacket with the hood up.

The sec­ond sus­pect is also de­scribed as a black man with a lighter skin tone, in his 20s, with an av­er­age build. He was wear­ing a black mask, a green /grey jacket with the col­lar up, and black hood un­der­neath with a black maple leaf sym­bol on the left side. He was also wear­ing blue jeans and tan shoes.
