SCHOOL STAFF, GLENWOOD DAY SCHOOL

Glenwood provides an intensive and supportive learning environment for students with special education needs between the ages of five and 21. Programming is facilitated by special education teachers, specially trained educational assistants, a life skills coach, a communication disorders assistant, and a registered kinesiologist.

Our school has many unique learning environments that include a Snoezelen and sensory room, gross motor activity areas, an accessible playground, Structured TEACCH model classes and a model apartment in which students can learn functional life skills. Technology also supports Glenwood students, with examples including Smartboards, iPads with communication apps, Sound Beam device and most recently, eye gaze technology with which a student can access a device with their gaze.

As we focus on communication, independence, transitions and life skills, Glenwood students are learning and growing to their full potential in a safe, positive and caring community.
