Anti-Semitic graffiti reported on rail trail
Coun. Chad Collins has reported anti-Semitic graffiti to police after being notified about the hateful spray paint on Hamilton’s rail trail.
A constituent who regularly uses the rail trail discovered the graffiti, which includes a swastika, near the Mohawk Road bridge, Collins said.
The Ward 5 councillor called the graffiti concerning and said he immediately reported it to police and the city’s parks department for removal.
Hamilton police spokesperson Const. Steve Welton said it’s important for the public to report incidents like this.
“We understand the impact these types of incidents have within the community,” he said. “There is no place for this in our city ... or anywhere.”
