Armed man robs RBC branch at Main West and Whit­ney

Hamil­ton po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing an armed rob­bery in the city’s wes­tend Ainslie Wood neigh­bour­hood that saw the sus­pect flee with “a large quan­tity of cash.”

Around 5 p.m. Thurs­day, a man en­tered the Royal Bank of Canada on Main Street West, at the in­ter­sec­tion of Whit­ney Av­enue, “bran- dished a weapon and de­manded money,” po­lice said.

He fled with the money in a black SUV. No one was in­jured.
